Meet the Director of Tax Services
Carl A. Rummel is the firm's director of tax services. He is a 1976 graduate with honors from the University of Montana and is licensed as a certified public accountant (CPA) in the State of Montana and recognized as a chartered global management accountant (CGMA).
Expertise in professional service firms with focus on architecture, engineering and design firms:
- Carl previously worked as Chief Financial Officer of a privately held multi-state design and construction firm, overseeing accounting, HR, risk management and finance for 20 years.
Business and individual tax planning and preparation:
- Carl began his public accounting career with a local firm and later he and his partner merged into a regional firm. He worked in auditing and accounting before specializing in income tax. He maintained a limited tax practice while working as a CFO and operated his own CPE firm 2012 through 2017.
CFO2go and controllership services:
- As a CFO Carl assumed the role of business manager; dealing with the day to day issues of running a business. He understands cash flow, decision making, and what it takes to run a business.
Trusted Business Advisor:
- Carl is a fourth generation Montanan and work ethic was taught daily on their Bitterroot Valley ranch. He also learned to solve problems using logic, common sense and a minimal set of tools. He has a personable communication style and is comfortable talking with a senator or a janitor.
Strategic planning and visionary leadership:
- As volunteer board chair of Missoula Federal Credit Union Carl has been involved in strategic planning for the organization. He has spoken at the State and National level on visionary leadership and motivating volunteers. Carl was honored by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions as the 2012 NAFCU Volunteer of the Year for large credit unions.
